Finalists Announced for 2012 National Business Awards

London, 14 August 2012 - The National Business Awards in partnership with Orange has today revealed over 150 of Britain 's leading businesses and business leaders as finalists in the prestigious awards programme. Ten companies have been named as finalists for the Croner Employer of the Year award. Croner is the UK 's largest provider of workplace information, software and services, part of global information services group, Wolters Kluwer. The Croner award will go to the company that can best demonstrate how the design and implementation of its human resources policy has created a stimulating and supportive workplace, with a well-motivated, well-trained, ambitious, innovative and integrated workforce. Announcing the finalists in this category, Andy Hague, Managing Director of Croner, says: "As UK business continues to face challenging times, it is ever more important for employers to design strong HR policies that help to attract, develop and retain the best employees. Finalist representatives will now prepare presentations, which will be judged by independent expert juries at London 's iconic Gherkin, to determine the overall winner to be announced at the awards ceremony on 13 November. National Business Awards finalists represent a combined annual turnover in excess of £135 billion and collectively employ over 700,000 people. They cover activities as diverse as digital marketing, international road haulage and logistics, water engineering and life sciences: sectors that reflect key areas of UK capability with high potential for international expansion. The diverse size of the companies entering is also huge – ranging from a business with an annual turnover of less that £50,000 to high growth and high value companies with multi-billion revenues.
